I've never been here before until my boyfriend took me. Being a shrimp fanatic, of course I chose the shrimp taco plate. THEY ARE TO DIE FOR. Today, they accidentally forgot to being out an extra order we made and management was very friendly and handled it accordingly. I will definitely be coming back here!

I love rubios. Their seafood burritos and tacos are delicious. I've been to this location over 6 times. And each time there has been something wrong. Dressing wasn't on the side. My order was forgotten. When my order finally came it was wrong. I'm not picky. I just like my dressing on the side. And I sometimes substitute a type of meat. That's all. Never any apologies just excuses. Offered to refund my money but after almost 40 mins of waiting I was too hungry to care if my order was right. I use to work in a kitchen so I know how it is. The people that make the food don't know how to read orders.

This place is amazing. First off its at the mall, second this place is different then most Mexicans place, and third customer service is great. My favorite are the fish tacos and cheese quesadilla.

Coastal trio with a side of bad attitude Having come here in the past for the coastal trio (beer battered fish, shrimp with salsa verde and blackened tilapia), I was expecting another pleasant visit after a long workday. However, I was treated disrespectfully and the Asian cashier named "JENNY" rolled her eyes at me while taking my order. I asked her to order the usual with a side of rice. And she rolled her eyes at me saying, "which rice?" I told her the Orange colored one because I forgot the name. She said, "I don't know what you are saying (rolling her eyes once more)" I assumed there was only one type of rice. Okay, next time I will look at the menu before ordering. But does she have to be that rude to me??? Also, I am an American having been born and raised here. I have never felt so disrespected and angry at the customer service I received today. One of the coworkers even seemed to support this attitude when I approached her regarding this customer service claiming that she was new and needed to be trained. Do you really need to be trained to not be disrespectful? I will not be coming back to have someone give me dirty looks while trying to take my order.

I understand taco Tuesdays are going to be a long line and wait since it's such a great deal. Ive worked in the food industry and i know how busy it can get. Since I knew it was dinner time and taco Tuesday I assumed it was gonna be super busy so I decided to call for pick up and ordered 2 tacos. The lady said ok it'll be 10 min. I arrived 10min later and realized i should of have never called in because I had to wait 35min (I'm not exaggerating) for them to make 2 tacos. So FYI...don't call in an order just fall in line like everyone else because the wait will be the same. Don't tell me to come in 10 min expecting to pick it up and leave. If it was gonna take 35 min to make ok that's cool just pls tell me to come in 35 min not 10 Ridiculous.

Ordered 6 fish tacos, and guess what?... Only got 5. Do they know how to count? Need to go back to school or at least hire people that know how to count.

Bland compared to baja fish tacos in....Baja, but if you go on Tuesday's, it's half off so it's worth it once in a while. The salsa bar is nice, the lemonade OK.

I ordered the fish tacos in the spring of 2014 and was disappointed by the large amount of batter on the fish. You taste more of the batter than you do the fish. If you want good tasting fish tacos, go find an authenitc taqueria somewhere else. Fast forward to July 2014 when I ate here because my co-workers wanted to try it. I ordered the chicken bowl and the chicken tasted burnt. Maybe because it was the end of the night or who knows what. My co-worker ordered the shrimp burrito and noticed that her shrimp also tasted burnt. Finally another co-worker ordered the Ahi salad bowl and we immediately noticed the bowl was only 1/3 full! I am done with this place.

I personally never come here, but tonight my dad decided to bring several fish tacos home for dinner. I open the first fish taco, and was so grossed out. Inside the wrapper was a long piece of black hair. Employees in this place really need to start wearing hair nets (I was told by my dad that they were not wearing any). Although it bothered my whole family at dinner, my dad did not want to take anymore time and take it back just to get a "sorry" and a new fish taco. Employees here should be more careful on where their hair ends up!!! Safe to say that we will never be ordering from here again.

This review is not about the food but the wait. A 40-minute wait for a take out burrito. And asked after 40 min wait they say its not even made yet, its on the queue. They definitely do not have enought workers on a Saturday lunch rush. Get this, when we paid there was no line. For us, we wont be coming back again.

This fish taco joint had great service and decent portions when they were starting out. The 99 cent fish taco tuesdays became a hit which generated much success up until recently when management implemented a new business model - nickle and dime the very same people who paved way to their success, their customers. Many would question: How could you raise the price of fish taco tuesdays from 99 cents to $1.49 only to decrease the size of the actual fish in the taco? Do you really believe your patrons are dumb not to pay close attention? How could you bear the thought of serving your patrons so little fish in the taco, covered in heavy, thick coagulated batter, concealed in a heaping mound of shredded cabbage? Do you honestly believe that nobody cares to notice what you serve then and now? Could that be your new formula for success? How could you transition from being a good decent fish taco joint to one that's completely careless, vile, disgusting, nickle and diming joint? If you haven't realized yet, it is only a matter of time until the curse of greed sneaks catches up to your unfair dining practices.

I always come here for the churros which I loooove, but this review is for Jamie. I was walking along the street outside a few mins ago and my damn paper bag filled with clothes and essentials from target tore open and all my contents tumbled to the ground. Totally embarassing, right? Dammit paper bags :/ Jamie went out of her way inside the restaurant to outside the restaurant to help me put my stuff into 2 Rubio's bags. That was very sweet and very helpful of her. Great customer servicr even for a non-customer like me. Thanks Jamie! You're a doll!

  • Pam Y.

They sell churros, and I would keep coming back here just for that. I tried one of their burritos the Baja grilled burrito with chicken, which was pretty good, pretty cheap too. I can't comment more on the service since I always get "to go" whenever I stop by here.

Understaffed, inexperienced, slow (35 minutes for 2 x 2 taco orders instead of the 15 minutes estimated by the order taker, ever growing line, observed wrong orders coming up, no metal forks and slow to put out plastic ones). No pico de gallo on salsa bar??? My custom requests were missed: I received chips and refried beans instead of rice and black beans (though the correct items were promptly added free by experienced server). But order still not correct: Corn tortillas instead of flour. Salmon instead of tilapia. -- How wrong can you get? The order number on the receipt and table sign was a match. The food is still reasonably tasty, but, well, seems to give me too much gas, so the last star just has to go away, sorry Rubio; I'll have to avoid you unless there's an indication of major improvements here.

Great staff! Love the shrimp salsa verde tacos and the blackened halibut fish taco. There is also the fish trio plate that comes with shrimp taco, halibut taco and a tilapia taco, yummy! The food taste very fresh!

The cashier was nice. The lady delivering our food was nice. Ambience? Nice. Bathroom? How the hell do you turn on the tap?! Either way, I was just forced to use the hand sanitizer since I was hungry. The fish tacos were okay. The corn tortilla was kind of rubbery... but then again most of corn tortillas are rubbery. The fish? The batter is nice and crispy. It lacked in white sauce and it was dry inside. But I guess I can't complain right? Since it's cheap. Either way, my mom says the shrimp burrito was nice. But me? I've had better fish tacos. :P

  • Lauren K.

I loveeeee taco tuesday! I'm full after 3 Fish Tacos and if I'm feeling extra hungry, I'll get a side of chips and indulge myself in the salsa bar. Otherwise, I'll just scoop some cilantro in a cup and extra limes and squeeze it into my fish taco. Yum! After you order, they give you a buzzer that will ring when our order is ready or they'll even bring it to your table! That's what I call awesome service even though it's at a fast food place! Find me here on Tuesdays! :)

If you are a broke college student, this is definitely the spot to be. COME ON, $1.50 tacos every Tuesday. WHY SAY NO?? This shall be the best procedure: 1. Go to Rubio's when its not rush hour dinner time (avoid 5-8pm) 2. Order at the counter. I THINK that the offer is only for fish tacos and if so they ask you either corn or flour tortilla and you choose 3. Get the buzzer that tells you when your food is ready. 4. Go to the self serve condiments and get the sauces, lime, jalapenos, napkins and whatever you need 5. wait for the buzzer to buzz 6. go get your food from the counter I mean its not like "5 star OMG best effen tacos in the entire universe" but it's a decent size for $1.50 and the quality is pretty good. 3 tacos usually fill me up and I personally like the flour tortilla more. Other than that they take card and parking is easy! Usually other than Tuesday this place is dead. After eating you can go shopping in the mall, target, or even grab a drink from Jamba Juice!! ENJOY! PLEASE GO TO TACO TUESDAY my fellow poor college students!

  • Andy W.

Almost perfect. The location (free parking), food, and atmosphere are all great but the service really needs work. The staff isn't the friendliest bunch, they also don't put enough attention in the lobby. The floor is sticky, the salsa bar is empty and the trash cans are full. However, the shrimp burrito and the fish tacos are so good, I can almost over look their flaws.

    (4)
  • Alexander M.

the only reason why I'm giving two stars is because the food is good. Every time I come here I have to wait 20+ minutes to receive my food. WTF? I know its fresh and made to order but looking in back at the cooks the don't seem to be in a rush or care for that matter.

    (2)
  • Rich P.

It reminds me of the SoCal Mexican food. It may not be authentic but its good for the money. Their salsa is thick and tasty. Just put it on everything for more flava. Everything tastes fresh. They could be a little more cleaner. I don't know if they have a manager on duty.

I work over at serramonte mall, so not much appeals to me since I am working in the store all day..but there is a few that appeal to me. when it comes to food am not picky but don't like mall food(food court) too much as its usually overpriced and just junky food. rubios is one of the few places I enjoy eating at and have gotten food there these past few days during my lunch break at work and so love it!

Last time I came here my brother informed me that he was going to take me to this awesome local taco place. I had to change my pants, that's how excited I got. We pull up to a mall. I'm like wow, their malls have local food instead of chains! Yay! And then my brother opens the door of Rubio's. I'd have punched him, but I needed a ride to the airport. But since my brother loves this place so much, I had to at least pretend to like it. Didn't have to pretend very hard. This place is the bomb. Fresh ingredients. Super cheap. Tomatillo salsa that is the tits. Today, my brother asked me what I wanted for lunch. I was like SOMETHING LOCAL. He said he knew just the place. Yeah. We ate Rubio's for lunch today. What a loser. Oh well. I'm not above it. It's too good to pretend like you don't like it. I made fun of him, but inside I was like, "Yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!" My brother argued that since Rubio's originated in San Francisco, it technically is local. Nice try, since it originated in, um, San Diego, which is only the same as San Francisco if you're from St. Louis.

I give this place a 2 stars because, I asked for chips and the register guy said sure, he then stuck his bare hands in the tray of chips and put some in a bag for me. After seeing the bare hand action from the money handler, still hungry!!! I then asked for a refund.

  • J S.

Soooo delicious! I've been to a rubios exactly three times, great every time, I'm hooked on those fish tacos. The second time I went they did mess up a little on my to go order, not that I didn't proceed to devour it anyway . They were super friendly at the serramonte location and totally made up for the wrong order last time. Joseph helped me out and he was great, as was the cook who handed me my meal, so helpful and friendly. Kudos to Rubios for having yummy food and great people working at their restraunts.

over priced simple burritos. ordered blackened tilapia: I thought they had forgotten me it took forever! ate it, there was barely an tilapia inside that burrito. for a simple burrito with small specs of tilapia for 9 bucks, not worth it.

Mall food, y'all. Mall food. So, if you can get past the cashier picking at his face (acne, pobrecito) before you order AND you get past the flies around the salsa bar AND you get past the general dirtiness of the drink station....YOU KNOW YOU ARE HUNGRY. This guy (who looks like a manager) brings my food out to me after a minute (So much for cooking everything fresh), which was nice. The seating area was fairly clean, which was nice. Oops, they forgot my chips. Went up and interrupted the guy in the glasses who was eating and leaning against the counter texting to ask for my chips. Him: "These don't come with the meal, but I am going to give them to you anyways." Me: "I paid extra for a side of chips." Him: "Oh." Me: "Thank you."

There I was, stranded in the mall with Hot Dog On A Stick as my main food option. Tempted by the allure of their delicious fare but fraught with the idea of fried batter transforming into love handles, I quickly exited the food court and walked back towards Target. And then I breathed a sigh of relief and strolled into Rubio's. In terms of fresh food that is also tasty and satisfying, Rubio's is probably your best choice around these parts. It's very clean and orderly, with a nice big seating area. This might be a weird thing to point out, but their tortillas are AMAZING. They're nice and thick, but not overly heavy--just what a tortilla should be. As much as I love fish tacos, I decided to be a bit healthier and go with a Baja Grill burrito (the calorie amounts are listed next to each item on the menu...for better or worse). It was awesome. I was also starving, which may have slightly swayed my judgment, but the chicken was really well flavored and grilled. I also like that the Grill burrito is substantial enough in size, but not a ridiculous 2-pounder like those of the Mission. It's a bittersweet reminder of SoCal burritos. It comes with pico de gallo, guacamole, and Mexican cheese--all you really need. Also, they have a great salsa bar. My favorites are the salsa verde and the roasted chipotle.

This lady cashier with eyeglasses is the most rudest, unprofessional associate that I've encountered, don't YELL when you take orders. If you're not happy with your job just quit!! Seems you don't like serving customers

When you wait over 30 minutes for cold rice, stale enchiladas, and cold fish tacos, something is seriously wrong with your operations. This place used to be decent for a quick meal, but I hope they tear the place down, along with the inept staff inside.

This location has gone downhill badly lately. The dining room is fiiiiilllllthy!!!! I love Rubios, in theory, but this location makes me want to puke, in practice. Tried to wash the scum off my hands but there was more scum against the wall under the hand drier with little "clean" lines where the water from other wet hands "cleaned" the wall. NASTY. The table tops might be clean but smeared against the side is the leftover dinner and possibly boogers of bygone evenings. The floor hadn't been mopped in a year unless they'd been moping with dirt and scum. The chicken may have been changed to target pressed cubed refrigerator icky salad chicken instead of grilled chicken from what they used to use. PLEASE go back to how you used to be, baby. I loved you so much back then. I havent changed, why have you?

  • Ghia G.

What can I say, I love moderately-priced Americanized-Mexican food. It's better than Taco Bell, right? My favorite item is the 2-Taco Plate with Mesquite Shrimp on a flour tortilla (sour cream as extra on the side, and then mix the mild salsa/onions/little bit of hot salsa). Even during Fish Taco Tuesdays I stick to my normal order (which means I wait a lot longer for my food on Tuesdays). This location in particular has outstanding customer service--- they bring the food to you if you are eating-in, even if you have the beeper, they search out for you. I also saw a girl slip once during the clearly posted "Wet Floor" sign, but they assisted her as best as possible and made sure she was satisfied, both with her food order and her overall experience. Some downsides that are not the restaurants fault: there are always annoying boppers asking for water cups and getting soda instead. I also am very irritated when parents are there and condone this!

I was so disappointed with this place today, that I will never go back. First, I ordered a salad, and asked for dressing ON THE SIDE. They couldn't follow simple instructions. When the food came out, I saw that there was no side dressing. I asked about it, and they then got me a side of dressing. Later I noticed that not only had they already ADDED dressing to the salad, they put TOO MUCH. I have dietary needs where I have to avoid a lot of carbs and sugars, so I needed my dressing on the side. They couldn't even follow these simple instructions. WOW. I also noticed that none of the food handlers were wearing any gloves. Finally, my boyfriend's burrito was not even wrapped properly/tightly, and had fallen out of the wrapping and into the plastic bag. Soo unprofessional this place! Never again.

Came in for $1.50 fish taco tuesdays. This is the second time I've been here for taco Tuesday & the service has been rubish. I have came here during a normal day & my burrito took incredibly long to make. Mexican food is just alright. You can find better & cheaper food at your local taqueria. Food is just ok. Anyways now I'm going to tell you why the service was so damn bad. I was with a friend here the other day my order came out first. My friend ordered 6 tacos 3 for here & 3 to go. His for here taco didn't come out until 15 mins after work. When people who ordered after us got there first. After 30 mins we were done with our food & still didn't get the to go tacos. We talked to them & they totally forgot about the tacos. The worker were running around like headless chickens didn't know who's order came with whos. They didn't do anything to correct there mistake. This is the second time in a row the service has been horrible. We will never come back.

Ever since my first experience at a Rubio's near the UCSD Campus in La Jolla, I've never been disappointed. Love to have some Fish Tacos once in a while. This Fast Food Chain pump them out better than some regular restaurants in which I've tried their Fish Tacos. In fact, way...... Better! My favorite Salsa from the Salsa Bar is always the Roasted Chipotle one. So Tasty! You know, I still haven't had a chance to make it out to their discounted Taco Tuesday nights.... Gonna have to soon.....

The fish in the World Famous Fish Tacos have gotten smaller and smaller, not worth my money. The Mahi Mahi Burrito is pretty good, but it's small and takes a while to make. Their side of rice is SUPER tiny to be called a "side" and is also kind of plain. I usually squeeze some limes or lemon juice in my food for extra flavor. They always seem to get my side orders wrong here - I want rice, but they give me beans. Overall, Rubio's has decent food, but not exactly worth your money. Their high-tech order buzzer thing seems more convenient than calling out the customers' names, but sometimes they don't work. And for some reason, this Rubio's always has a problem with spelling my name correctly; they always add an "e" in there somewhere. One time I was called "Marcella." Hmm. I think the one in Westfield Mall in SF has faster, more accurate service, even though that one has more people.

Came here w/ 2 of my friends back in '07 and came back here 2 weeks ago- loved the quesadilla I ordered and my bf loved the fish tacos! The manager gave us our order and he was very very nice! They make better quesadillas than Chipotle! Can't wait to come back!

I know it's fast food and it's in the mall. (Does that make it mall food?) And I also know a bunch of taquerias that are way better. But sometimes you just want something bad. I'm partial to anything with carnitas, and fish tacos are a safe choice. Speaking of fish tacos, they are only $1 on Tuesdays (after 2:30 pm). I usually have to fake a headache or just sneak out of work early. But it's worth the deceit. Mind you, I don't go every Tuesday because that would be wrong. But once a month is within the Tuesdays code of ethics.

    (2)
  • Alexandra A.

I love coming here they have the best nachos ever. The tortilla chips are nice and crunchy not too hard. At some other places thet give you chips that taste like they are week old. If you get chicken or steak the chunks are nice and big. Servivce is always fast and nice.

  • Angela B.

Their food is always good... I have never had an issue with anything I've ordered. Taco Tuesday is always good... $1.25 for a fish taco... you cant go wrong there! But every other day is just as good of a deal. Working in the mall discourages the normal dieter... with all the gross fattening food in the food court Rubios is a great deal, for the more health conscious!

    (5)
  • Michelle B.

Oh rubio oh rubio. . . I freakin love your fish tacos. How I wait each for each Tuesday to get your $2 deal. . Pleasure in 10 minutes (or less). I always eat your tacos with excitement. . waiting for the white stuff to goo out. . . mmmmm. . I've had your burrito once, but I don't know if it's just me, but nothing is like your taco. Your burrito was okay, but it doesn't live up to what mexicans are 'known' for. It's okay, the all you can spoon sauce always saves the day. . Oh rubio oh rubio. . . . .

It's all about the $1 taco Tuesdays son! Yeah, I love me some taco Tuesdays....mmmmmmm mmmmmm. You seriously can't go wrong with $1 fish tacos - well, you can...but not here. I'm embarrassed to admit that I am hooked! Fitting, cuz they're FISH tacos...get it?! Hooked? Um, k...nevermind. Just go and have some fish tacos. I'll see you there Tuesday nights (Jeez...no wonder my jeans are so tight these days - curse you fish tacos!)

  • Larry G.

Located outside of the Serramonte mall, lots of parking but good luck on finding one close. Your typical Rubio's, except this one is a little dirtier than most. Fish tacos are still good, but not as unique as before. A better meal here than any other place in the food court inside the mall. A good option if you're sick of burgers. About 15 tables inside, a few tables outside but it's usually too cold to eat outside here. Expect to bus your own table here. Self-serve soda fountain.

  • Lee L.

Tried one of their signature burritos and it was dry, tasteless, and scant...meaning there was too little of the good stuff like salsa, meat, and guacamole. Maybe the food was bad because I used a coupon"??? It put me off so much, I will not be going there again. It's too bad because I often drive by this place...

  • Fancypants X.

Throw the word "gourmet" in the mix and *voila* Rubio's is justified in charging $4 for a taco filled with bacon, avocado & a spicy sauce. I'm not saying the $4 isn't worth it because the Grilled Gourmet Tacos are scrumptious & are the only things I like/crave/order when I'm at Rubios. I've tried all four varieties: chicken, steak, garlic herb shrimp & portobello & poblano (the only one without bacon) & each one is brimming with awesome Mexican-American flavor.

This could well be my favorite Rubio's in the Bay Area. It has nice outdoor seating and a clean bathroom. Definitely worth a stop if you are at the Mall and craving something tasty+not that unhealthy.

    (4)
  • Ari C.

I only go to rubio's on tuesdays. Those are the only times I get to spend more money on a drink than on food. 2 fish tacos (on a tuesday) = $2.00 1 16oz. OJ from jamba juice = $3.00 1 churro if I'm feeling skinny = $1.00 Still cheaper than going inside the mall to eat at the food court. And much healthier too (just take out the churro). Minus = the chips always taste stale.

How about some fish tacos for a dollar and not from a taco truck? Only on Tuesdays however but this gave me an excuse not to cook something this night. Tacos for the fam! What, no chips to go with those tacos? Oh well, the tacos were still good and quickly delivered from DC to SSF. Well, besides Tuesdays I like to go here post long bicycle ride just because of the inexpensive fish tacos. I say "inexpensive" and not "cheap" because of the connotations of these two concepts, mind you. And you have to give it an extra star for a fast food place that serves beer.

Order the right things and you will love Rubio's . Order the wrong things and you wont like this place. Everyone has differing tastes, for me I love the CARNITAS STREET TACOS and the new langostino lobster tacos. of course I love the traditional crispy fried fish tacos. I do not care for the gourmet tacos with their tomato salsa that taste too much like tomato sauce. The beans they serve on the side were too smoky last time (tasted like a cigarette was put out in them). But they are OK other times. My advice is to try a wide variety of items to see which ones you like best. Do that and you can have a 5 star experience.

It's annoying how their prices keep going up, up, up. I swear everytime I go here, which is pretty often - the prices have gone up. Anyway, I love the tacos. fish, chicken, whatever, they are darn good. Taco Tuesday is a must. 1/2 price fish tacos!!! Chips are great, salsa is good.

Like Janice V., I only come here on Tuesday for their Fish Taco Special. I just love their fish tacos. It is the best fish taco out there. It makes Tuesday as one of my favorite days of the week. That's all I can say. Now I wonder if they have any Rubios here in Maryland (on vacation here). I have a craving for fish tacos right now, considering that Today is Tuesday.

I only come here for the $1 fish tacos on Tuesdays (your choice of a soft corn or soft flour tortilla). Salsas go well with it.....well they're supposed to anyways! The lady cashier is always friendly......so far! Cheap and always satisfies my growling tummy. What else can I say?!? =P

I got nothing wrong with this place. the only place that i would probably eat at to avoid fast food like mcdonald's or burger king. i love when it cheap on tuesday.

Heck yea! Love Rubio's! Fish tacos are the best! Can't wait till they open the one on 4th in San Mateo downtown... closer to home/work!

I love Rubio's and so does my kids and husband. After a long day and no time to cook we find ourselves enjoying one of their great dishes at a reasonable price. Service is very nice and the place is clean.

I apologize in advance for giving 5 stars to a chain taco place, but I just had to. I'm sorry. Say mean things if you have to, I can take it. I've been to a number of Rubios in the area, but I've been here most often. Why? Cause there's two Targets near by. I usually visit the one in Colma (across the freeway) but they're typically out of one of the things on my list so I backtrack under the freeway to the other Target and stop at Rubios for a snack. Usually I stick to the chicken Baja Grill burrito, which is wonderful enough, but the other day I walked in and saw.... IT....the lobster burrito. I was nervous...should I shun my tried and true chicken to try this "lobster"? How good can a lobster burrito be anyway? Especially a lobster burrito from a chain. Well 15 minutes and $8.50 later, I found my answer...AMAZING. The lobster burrito was heaven. I am truly in love. Don't be jealous. It's just so tasty! I don't know what kind of lobster it is and I don't care, it was absolutely AMAZING! Have i said that already. Sorry I'll stop. Anyway, so it's cheap, the burritos are delicious, the chips are OK, the bean stuff they serve on the side of their meals is great too, and the salsas on their salsa bar far surpasses that of any other taco chain I've ever visited. So, for the price, convenience, proximity to Targets, salsa bar and for the AMAZING (sorry, i had to) lobster burrito, Rubios gets my 5 stars.

Love taco Tuesday. It's starting to be a habit. The food is always fresh and fully stocked with different salsa flavors. If you're on a budget and want some mex grilled food at the mall, this is a safe bet, you'll like it.

I find myself frequenting the Target at Serramonte a lot recently, and I think it's because of the Rubio's that opened up next door. I am so ecstatic that Rubio's finally opened up in the Bay Area. Their fish tacos especial are like crack in a soft warm tortilla - They are actually the only thing I've ever ordered at a Rubio's, but I see no need to mess with perfection. I also love their self-serve soda fountain - I get to make my favorite soda cocktail: 50% fruit punch, 25% lemonade, 25% sprite.. mmmmm.

It's Tuesday and you know what that means at Rubio's ---- Fish Taco Tuesdays!!! They are only $1 each and they so yummy in the tummy! You can get it with either corn or flour tortilla and the it is filled with a generous portion of fried fish with their special white sauce and salsa, topped off with crunchy cabbage. The service has been better since the last time I went to this Daly City location. Maybe they have hired enough people b/c the wait is no longer 20 minutes or more. I actually got my food in less than 10 minutes! Since I always order the fish tacos, I also decided to order the Crispy Shrimp Mango burrito (new item) and boy, it's my new favorite!!!! It's actually orgasmic! LOL!!! Seriously, it's pure heaven. Watch out Rubio's.....I'll be paying you a visit again very soon!

First time eating here last night at their mall location when we were craving for some baja style fish and shrimp tacos. The nearest one was at Serramonte in DC. (ugh I just didn't like to drive so far..plus have to fight for parking with mallrats) Bit my lip and took it like a champ and sure enough, we had to deal with mallrats in the parking lot. So whatever, that's what people get in order to satisfy their craving for fish tacos. It was a very nice surprise to walk into a well-lit place, friendly staff and nice seating areas..very festive. Reminds me of the Rubio's in San Diego. Had a shrimp taco and chips. Next time I will try their lobster burrito. My review should've been 5 stars but the location merits only 4.

Fast food Chevy's so if you know what you are getting into, no surprises. Food was fine, kids meal was a good deal, five of us ate for about $30. Again, not horrible, but it would be more of a restaurant of convenience rather than the intended destination.

Scareamonte has finally redeemed itself with the addition of Rubio's. Complete with salsa bar, Taco Tuesday's and that awesome waves crashing-seagulls choking-seabreeze swaying soundtrack that pipes through the Muzak just makes me feel like grabbing some Coronas to swig back with my fish taco especial.

Only tried their Tuesday Fish Tacos for $1.25 each! Tried both flour and corn tortillas-personally like flour one better. Have to try the rest of the menu next time. Will come back more for Taco Tuesdays for sure! :)

Imagine my excitement as I'm exiting Daiso Japan and across the parking lot I spot the Rubio's! I live damn close to Serramonte. I'm there almost 2x a week and I did NOT even know they were putting one there. And hey they were open! Guess what was for lunch today? Ahahaha. So good, and now, oh so convenient. I don't have to wait til I go downtown or to Emeryville anymore. And again the fish tacos. No need to ponder the menu. The fish tacos. And they've got the Tuesday promo going on over there, after 4PM til close Fish Tacos for $1.

Service was prompt, salsa bar was clean and organized, and food was on point. I'm not sure what more could I ask for than this. It's a pretty good place to eat if you're looking for a quick fix. I do wish they offered pico de gallo salsa, especially for the chips.

After going around the mall I decided to have a bite to eat at Rubio's which is one of those quasi fast food places that are more high end than Taco Bell. Anyway I must either be worldly and or really stupid. I asked the opposite of fred what type of beverages. As I normally do not drink sodas and I am not drinking beer today, I asked if they had Horchata. I must be used to authentic Mexican food served in the Mission but she had no idea what I was on about so I requested an empty plastic cup for malinkey. Then she gave me the number 13. I said that was unusual but she never heard of the fact that 13 was unlucky. She is probably a student of physics. I ordered a shrimp bowl with no rice and I got a burrito (but with no rice). Although it was not the right item (it could have EASILY been an error on my part) I ate it anyway. It was good. Way better than Taco Bell.

  • Tam T.

I iike rubios, i ate their mango shrimp tacos or something and it was great but there was this buzz about cheap fish tacos on Tuesdays. It was not good at all, it just had no kick. I don't know if it was the location or because they made so many it all became bland or what, but people just pay a little more and get a better tasting fish taco at Nick's Crispy Tacos on polk! to friggen die for!

taco tuesday!! its the fish taco for 1 something $ well worth and fills you up quick.

  • Karen S.

I've always loved Rubio's because I'm a sucker for all kinds of Mexican food. I know, I know this is probably not authentic Mexican food, but I love it nonetheless! I tried the HealthMex Taco today with chicken, and it was surprisingly very tasty. I expected it to be only so-so since it was the "healthy" option, but I was very satisfied with the outcome. I'm hoping to stop by on a TUESDAY AFTER 2:30pm because they have $1.25 fish tacos!!!! Can't go wrong with that!

    (4)
  • Brian H.

All I gotta say is Taco Mutha Effing Tuesdays!!! 1$ Fish Tacos on Tuesdays from 2:30 to close. Can't beat that with a bat! This place has the cheesy mall chain-restaurant vibe but the tacos were surprisingly good. Way better than they have to be to get me to eat them for $1. They're ordinarily $1.79 which is a pretty good deal as it is. The salsa bar was quite good too. They charge for chips which is kinda bogus but overall this place is pretty good. I will definitely be making a habit of hitting up Taco Tuesdays.

  • Brian K.

They did a major change of menu to a much less desirable range of choices. Chicken burrito was tasty. Miss the carnitas and enchiladas. When I had the fish taco the other day the piece of fish in both tacos was the size of a chicken mcnugget - very stingy portion. Probably won't be back any more - don't like restricted new menu nor stingy portion sizes. Originally I loved this place but they lost their way.

Grilled Mahi-Mahi Tacos. Just thinking about them makes me smile. If the mood hits me, I have no problem driving the 15 minutes completely out of my way to eat there. Plus with a Target right next door, that's always another good reason to waste gas. They are made fresh and they are mouth watering. The side of black beans is perfect along with the amount of chips. I always feel perfectly full when I leave there. Great salsa bar and free refills too.

    (5)
  • K W.

It's super affordable and there is no fuss with parking. You can buy your essentials at Target and walk over to grab a good quick bite. On a sunny day you can even eat on their outside patio. No margueritas though- bummer. They take amex!

  • Jenny V.

Yes I like rubios! Not their tacos, THEIR BURRITOS!! Their burritos are so good, I would totally reccomend them & its freshly made not microwaved. 4 stars for their burritos, but no stars for their tacos.

This place is a good fast food restaurant. Usually when it comes to fast food I stay away but I was in a rush one day and they were close by and It was great. Good quality food. Its more of a American-Mexican restaurant. I had the chicken tacos and have gone back a few time since and always enjoyed my lunch. Really friendly place and have nothing bad to say about it. I wouldn't go out of my way for it but Its worth going to if your close by.

got here at 11:30 on a monday and the place was quiet but that is how I like it. Ordered the fish taco and the salmon taco. pleased to find I believe both were WILD. YEAH for Rubio's for bringing wild pollock and wild salmon to the table. the tacos on flour that I ordered a la cart were DELISH. the servers even brought the dish to our table even though we had a pager given to us. SUPER nice serving staff. CLEAN tables. Everytime I come here the fish tacos are perfect and I have a great experience with the waitstaff.

We just got off the ferry to Alcatraz. I was starving. The three kids I'm currently nannying were sitting in the back of the car fighting. I was dying to beat rush hour so I promised them a late lunch (3ish) if they played the quiet game and didn't talk to me for 30 minutes while I tried to think about what to do with my life. Or at least where to get us all some food. And QUICK. I missed the restaurants that were closest to us because I had to pick someone up at the Daly City Bart at 4:15. I started to panic. I really don't know why except that I was dog tired, hadn't had coffee, and missed my exit. Twice. Somehow I ended up at Serramonte. Although my experience at Rubio's in the past hasn't been 5 stars, this particular time Rubio's happened to be a welcome oasis during my moment of distress. I had the fish burrito, finished one of the kids' nachos and could have eaten more. I enjoyed it. I instantly felt better.

Hhmmm, how should I start? Well the fish tacos are rufage covered fish sticks and street tacos are twice the price of real street tacos. Spent $20 for lunch and still left me hungry. Oh well I guess they have to pay rent somehow.

  • Andi G.

I try to time visits to Serramonte so that we can have lunch here. The burritos are yummy and smaller and healthier than a typical taqueria burrito, so I don't feel so stuffed and guilty after my meal. I love all the seafood choices, and the salsa verde is yummy. I love Rubio's. My 2-year-old loves Rubio's. We've got no complaints.

FOUR STARS FOR FISH TACO'S (and fish taco tuesdays). Salsa is good and fish taco's are cheap $$$ and tasty. Also right by a shopping mall and a bowling alley!

Being from So Cal, I miss my Mexican food. Especially the fish tacos from the hole-in-the-wall spots in Guada-LaHabra and Norwalk. This is the closest I can get to decent fried fish tacos in the Peninsula. I know its a chain (which is much more prominent down south), but their foods decent. I always order 3 fish tacos, drench them with fresh squeezed lime juice and salsa verde. If you dont like fish, then order the grilled chicken burrito. I also think that they have an awesome chicken salad. The salad actually eats like a meal. I never leave here hungry. I just hate this location because I have to park so far away because everyone in Daly City is going to Target, and its right beside Target at the mall.

  • Oribel ..

Better than Taco Bell! Hehe. We went here last night and had their fish taco. It was kind of small - one beer-battered fish stick, shredded cabbage, and white (tartar?) sauce - but it tasted so good and it was only $1 each on Tuesday special. I love their salsa bar. I think Rubio's salsas are much better than Pancho Villa's famous salsas.

  • Gina F.

I absolutely love traditional taquerias, but if you want a much healthier alternative, Rubio's is your place. I honestly have not tried their tacos (I know, I know. This place is known for their tacos!). But I have tried their Carnitas Burrito and Tropical Salad. The burrito was good and wasn't something to feel guilty about eating. Their Tropical Salad is THE BEST; I love it. In fact, that's the only thing I order there now. I never get tired of it, and it's always delicious. A plus about Rubio's is also their salsa bar. It is complete with so many choices.

if i wanted AUTHENTIC mexican food, i'd go to a taqueria. rubio's is just an upgraded taco bell. why did i go here again? oh yeah, we were about to go to target and rubio's was close by. and we were too lazy to walk to the food court! so we ordered up front and they gave us one of those vibrating things to let you know that your food is ready. we found a table and that thing starts to vibrate. so my boyfriend goes to pick up the food. but instead, he comes back with no food and tells me "they fucked up on your order. theres no more shrimp so i ordered you chicken...." i ordered a shrimp taco by the way. wtf?! why couldnt they tell me they were out of shrimp when we first ordered?! what the hell?! that would have saved us a lot trouble! i could've ordered something else instead! i was so mad! but they DID end up giving me a card for 2 free tacos! so that made up for their stupid mistake. and it also gives me a reason to go back there. i ended up with 2 chicken tacos that i didnt even want. so i ended up trading tacos with my boyfriend since he ordered fish tacos and i was craving seafood! the tacos were actually pretty good. i liked the fish taco. i guess that what they're famous for. but the chicken taco was alright. their chips werent that great but their beans were really good. i'll be back to get my 2 free tacos.

Ok, I revisited this location, and will have to knock it down to 3 stars. The fish tacos just isn't that tasty as I remember. And it doesn't taste that fresh. They also just poured the tortilla chips all over the tacos instead of putting it in a corner of the box. Seems to have gone downhill a bit. Only reason it gets 3 stars is because I don't know of another fish taco place closeby.

    (3)
  • BigAppetite ..

This place is okay...i mainly go there for the dollar fish taco tuesday. Other than that, i don't really eat there. The service is slow, and the staff can be a mixed bag...sometimes they're really friendly, and sometimes, they are plain rude. can't really beat the dollar fish taco. the food is average.

I can't believe that I had my first fish taco today. How could I have possibly missed out on eating these delicious things? Granted I've always lived in Nor Cal and we're not exactly the hotbed for fish tacos like So Cal is, but shouldn't I, at some point, have had a fish taco? Alas, not, so onward to Rubio's, where the fish tacos were good, and a little more complex than just the plain "fish stick in a tortilla" that my sister said it was. I decided to order the "Original Combo", which was two fish tacos, a side of tortilla chips, a side of refried beans with some cheese on top, and a refillable soda for six bucks and change. The fish tacos come in either a corn or flour tortilla- I chose one of each to try the difference between the two. Personally, I loved the fish taco in the corn tortilla. The battered fish flaked well and the outside stayed crisp (at least for the first taco). The corn tortilla had more texture than the flour one, which reminded me of a flattened slice of Wonder bread. I liked the cabbage, as well as the mild salsa and special "white sauce". All combined, it made for a tasty meal. For some extra kick, I got some of the hot salsa from the salsa bar and placed some on top of the taco... YUM! The tortilla chips were slightly stale and the beans were only edible once some hot salsa was mixed in, so I'm avoiding those next time. So, I'm happy I got my first fish taco today and I'm even happier that I can get them readily so close to where I live. What makes me happiest is the fact that Rubio's has Taco Tuesdays where the fish tacos are $1 each after 2:30 pm. Looks like that's whats for dinner next Tuesday!

Thank you Rubio's, or whoever owns this franchise (if it is one)! I have been waiting for Rubio's to open up somewhere close to SF but where you can easily get to the place and park for free. Rubio's is right close to the good parts of otherwise annoying Serramonte: Tar-jay, Forever 21, Sees Candy, and a cheap shoe store whose name I forget. This location has a funky thatched roof palapa thingy in the middle of the seating area. Every so often the music changes to the sound of waves and birds chirping. Hilarious. They brough my fish taco especial to the table within seconds. The fish could have been hotter, or else the fixins in the taco were too refrigerated and they cooled the whole thing down. Overall it was good. I couldn't get a combo with just 1 taco; I had to get 2 tacos to get the combo. This annoyed me because I can't eat 2 tacos. One taco, plus beans and a few chips is all I want. I hope they change the menu and add this option in. Also, the floor in the back near the bench was sticky. Yuk. Still, I gave it high marks for potential, convenience, and parking.

  • Jo M.

I generally really enjoy Rubio's fish burritos, but I have been to this location about 12 times and have been disappointed about 11 times. The burritos are mushy and so is the fish inside it. Thy've messed up our ordered a couple times too. Also, they raised their prices and stopped giving free tortilla chips with your food (now they charge for it). The people who work there are not particularly kind either. The Rubio's in SF's financial district is soooo much better.

    (2)
  • Armstrong B.

This was my first time eating here and I didn't know what to expect. The chips and salsa were good. Rubio's is known for their fish tacos and they've brought the flavor of So Cal here. This was my first time having a fish taco and it'll be something I'll order off their menu for years to come. Their burritos are ok but I still prefer Chipotle.

  • Nelle A.

after i bought the badly needed laundry detergent at target, i went straight to this place to get myself 4 pcs of their TUESDAY FISH TACOS for a buck!!! it was delightful. the battered fish was not bad, crispy and the white sauce that was drizzled with shredded cabbage and a twist of lime made this taco quite appetizing!!! the menu has some interesting items, especially the wrapsalads and some healthmex entree. so, this place is such a good amenity in the mall area...really accessible and such an enjoyment to all shoppers. i also like the way the cashier made a mistake punching my name on the receipt: MERIE (mary)!!

    (3)
  • R D.

Their lobster burritos are a ripoff, imo. Hardly any lobster inside. Just a bunch of rice, beans and guacomole. Didn't look at all like what was shown in the advertisement. Ten hard earned bucks down the drain. Thanks, Rubio's! You suck.

  • Kathleen P.

Simply vile. The only reason I'm giving this place two stars is because the woman who took my lunch order was extremely nice, the beans and guacamole were both good, and the chips were fresh. My pork tacos? Not so much. Also, the woman in the kitchen pushing food off the knife she was using with her bare hands freaked me out. I went to Rubio's for years in San Diego, and always had great food. I've now been to two Rubio's in the San Francisco Bay Area (I think the other one was in San Jose), and this was my second bad experience. A step up from Taco Bell (the salads they had up on the nicely lit menu looked good), but not by much. I won't be going back.

Everytime I say the word "Chipotle" my Lola (grandma) starts laughing, as if I said something perverted... but it's so cute because she acts like a baby being tickled. It's not really that funny, Lola...... (chipotle.) My roommate told me of this place, recently opened, and very popular down in SoCal. I got a little hungry combing through throngs of Filipinos at Target while looking for my Cheer with Colorguard laundry detergent, so we went to Rubio's. To test out the quality/flavor of goods served up at these wannabe-Mexican chain restaurants, I always order: 1 carne asada taco and 1 chicken taco. I opted for the "Street style" tacos, which only consists of the meat, chopped onions, cilantro, and whaddyanooo.... guacamole wrapped in a corn tortilla napkin at Rubio's. I normally just prefer my tacos with salsa, onions, and cilantro... so please hold the lettuce, sour cream, cheese, etc. I saw the "World Famous Fish Taco" sign and also ordered one of those (batter dipped, fried pollock with shredded cabbage and fish taco sauce). I started with the chicken taco... huge cubed pieces, not dry, but would've preferred the meat to be minced... which was the case with the carne asada taco, which was better. Alright, 3 stars so far because it tastes "sanitary" and feels healthy (read: not quite taco truck quality). Then I got to the fish taco, which was actually pretty damn good. What made the experience better was the recorded beach and sea gulls sounds that played at intervals to give the customers that illusion that they are South o' da border, chillaxin' by the beach. They have $1 Taco Tuesdays at this Rubio's, from 4pm till closing. They also serve Coronas. Their salsa bar is decent, and even includes a real smoky chipotle salsa. (chipotle.)

  • Fotos C.

After trying this place out for the first time, it's just okay. It is way too overpriced for what you get and there is barely any parking at the mall. The steak burrito was quite good and the different salsa choices give the food extra punch. For a chain, it is better than taco bell, chevy's, baja fresh, and chipotle, although chipotle comes close.

After when, I was finished with some of my chiristmas shopping at macy's for the morning specials which that they had on a friday morning at Serramonte... After all the shopping that I did after that, I was so hungry that, I wanted to eat something different other then eating at Taco Bell, Mcdonalds, Burger King and the rest of the food court places for me it's like been there and done that... It was time to for a change this time, I went to Rubio's and had myself the most delicioso grilled steak burrito combo ever!!! After so many times that...I have eaten at the Burger Kings, Mcdonalds, Taco Bell's, Lori's Diner and the food court area, I have finally gotten a chance to eat a grilled steak burrito combo at Rubio's... I will definitely will be back again to eat their burritos at Rubio's which is just located outside of the Serramonte Shopping Mall which is just right next door to Jamba Juice...

All the beer, bright lights, taco (e)specials and bells 'n whistles don't make up for the fact that it's a Baja Fresh with slightly better fish tacos.

  • Mark E.

The food is pretty good but it's not very filling. For six bucks I get only an appetizer's worth of satisfaction. You can definitely get your money's worth at other restaurants. Their service also kinda sucks. The first time I ate there, they made a mistake on my side. The last time I ate there, I waited nearly 30 minutes for my order. When I went up to ask them, they already had it ready which meant that the pager I had didn't even work.

Rubio's fish taco --- yummmy!!! I went last night and didn't expect the $1.00 taco Tuesday! What a deal! Billion times better than Kana Sushi! I know it's not even comparable, but I just wanted to say that, because I'm still not over my horrific experience with Kana Sushi in Westlake Daly City.

my expectations were low, very low. on my way to tar-jey and feeling a bit peckish. i ordered one fish taco and a diet coke. and the taco was really amazing... like a fish taco should taste... and yet i was in serramonte. the wonders never cease. the ladies behind the counter were really nice, too, again - a wonder of the world!

these new gourmet tacos (shrimp/bacon, poblano chicken) are petite and a bit pricy, but so freakin' good. i wish i could eat spicy food, cuz i'm sure they're even better if eaten with the salsas that they come with. but i have to order them without, and they're still outstanding. of course, these tacos will never top my all-time faves, the fish tacos. i love their friendly service, always-fresh salsa station, thick crispy chips. i just have a thing for rubio's and no one can take that away from me.

shit, i'm all about authentic mexican food at some local taqueria on mission street.. but why the hell are rubio's fish tacos so DAMN good!! ... AND they have a special on tuesdays after 2:30.. omg i'm coming here every tuesday. haha

I love this place, we are addicted. Tuesdays are $1 fish taco day from 4 - 8pm. Great to pick up on the way home from work. Delish food, good service, pretty quick most of the time. Salsa is also tasty and fresh. It's fast food that is good...amazing.

If this was in the Mission, I would never go on but I was in Daly City so I am thankful. Way better than Taco Bell. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tr… en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ho…

I love rubio's...but the service at the daly city branch, i hate it. i've been there quite a bit of times to say i can write a review...and everytime i go it's like nobody speaks real english. when i say..no beans...that means no beans in anything and everything. and when i say...can i substitute the beans for more chips..that doesn't mean give me beans and extra rice. and when i order a churro, that doesn't me give me the churro 30 minutes later. and they always ask flour or corn..but it always sounds like, "bla blah bla blah"...oh..and the lady yesterday...i've experienced bad customer service and let me just say is was one bad customer service. she said she'll be right with me. (there was no one in line..and i've already waited 5 minutes) and when she was finally ready to take my order....she said what would you like...i started to list my order and all of the sudden she starts yelling across the room to one of her friends in spanish...and rudely interrupted me with no apology. what kind of customer service training did this girl have. overall, service is bad, fish tacos ($2.69) are amazing (that is the only reason why I go to rubios, especially on Tuesdays), burritos (+$6.69) are small (I can get a burrito other places bigger in size and cheaper in price), quesadilla ($6.99 with chicken) is good and over priced (i am going to a chain restaurant and prices tend to be much higher), kids meal needs more variety and churros are yummy. i would give rubio's the company not this branch five stars for the fish tacos..but because of the service and price this rubio's offers, I'm bringing it down to three.

taco tuesdays. the only day i go here, after the gym. i workout a little harder just so i know i deserved the 2 tacos i'm going to eat. clean, fast service, and sufficient enough taste for my craving! it aint nothing like some tacos we ordered in San Diego, but they're good to me. see you next time i'm at target Rubio's! p.s. chips have been stale more than once.

this is the first time i've ever given 3 stars to a fast food joint, but i have to say, i was very impressed with the fish taco plate! one grilled mahi mahi taco and another fried fish taco accompanied by (mediocre) beans, and some decent chips, salsa and jalapeno peppers. the woman working at the place was nice enough to give my friend and i extra chips to much on while waiting for our take-out order. a nice stop after a shopping trip to the rack =)

There is nothing fresh about this place. We had chicken tacos that came with some white unidentified sauce (the sauce was not even anywhere on the menu). Chicken looked and tasted as if those were some leftovers from a few days ago. Tacos were messy. we ended up returning them. I would AVOID this place. The rating should be no stars at all.

  • Michelle M.

This is the third Rubio's I've been to in the Yay Area (I've also been to Emeryville & downtown SF). The food is decent, but not anything outstanding. I had a chicken burrito the last time I went..the burrito was crunchy (?!), kind of like they do at Taco Bell, but it tasted okay. It also came with chips and a soda, which I got for free. I was disappointed though that they never refilled the regular salsa (chopped tomatoes/cilantro) at the salsa bar, since that's the only kind I really like. I had to eat some watery green goop instead. The manager was very nice (she came over to ask how everything was), but the woman at the counter was kind of rude and not too bright. My auntie got the wrong order and like I said, I got a free soda...oh well. The only thing that kind of grosses me out is that the ppl who make the food don't wear gloves, they just use their nasty hands! Yecchh! But I'll probably still go back....

$1.50 fish tacos = life I go to school near by and when I had my car I would drive here after school every Tuesday to get their fish tacos with my friends. Topped with their green sauce and salsa sauce, it was heaven in a wrap. If you don't think it's that good, try adding that green sauce. It adds all the perfect zings to the crunchy piece of fish to create the near-perfect punch of flavor. I haven't actually tried anything else here so... this is basically a tribute to their fish taco tuesdays. If you're looking to grab a snack "on a Tuesday", definitely swing by Rubio's to try their fish taco out! Don't forget the sauce!

  • Stephanie W.

My last visit to rubios will also probably be my last... I was enticed to come here cuz of the awesome taco Tuesday deal. $1.50 per taco is a steal especially in the Bay Area. Anyway, this place reminds me of a little kid in school that tries his best but falls short..by a lot...every single time. You wanna say "yea! You did a great job!" Cuz you know they tried but really.. They were a hot mess. Truth hurts... My tacos took about 30-40 minutes to come out..they're just tacos so why were they so backed up?!? They were making tacos/burritos for a quite empty rubios. And the people that they called to pick up their orders..half of them never came!! Meanwhile I'm standing there right in front of the pick up area for ..40 minutes!!! Omg. When I finally got my order of four tacos, one of them was missing the white sauce which made the taco very dry. :( The truth is I had just came from off the grid in serromonte and we had to cut our time there short because I wanted to try the fish tacos at rubios. I felt so guilty for making my friend wait in the car for 40 minutes. Effing crazy... I will say I appreciate Norma helping me out. She made sure to check how long it would take for me to get my tacos. Unfortunately the answers disappointed me!!! But yea, she was cool. Give her a raise, if management is reading this. From the recommendation of ME! Also I liked the price. 6ish bucks for 4 tacos. I lost in time what I saved in money. Wasn't really worth it.

They closed 30mins earlier than they were suppose to cause some weird guy that was working there that was smoking outside said "my hat is there in the door and were out of fish". But the fish tacos were good lastime.

  • T J.

$7.49 "fish taco especial" - where's the fish?? Received a couple tortillas containing 2 clumps of dark battered things that looked like corn dogs. No fish flavor, plenty of bready-greasy flavor. Menu doesn't even mention they are to be deep fried. The "platter" up charge was for a few lame tortilla chips and watery refried beans worse than you get from a can. Il shocked if this place gets repeat business, little value and not much goodness. Even the salsa bar offerings were overly mild. They gotta step up their game, places like Baja Fresh and Una Mas are so much better (and they are hardly great restaurants). Two stars for convenient location and seating availability.

I hate to re-write this review. The food is pretty good considering it is outside of the mall and it is "fast" food. BUT - I have now come here twice between 8:00 - 8:20PM and the doors are locked. Workers are inside and taking orders/serving people their food. The first time we got locked out, I thought it was a one time thing. It was the week of 4th of July, so we figured, maybe it was because it was a holiday week. Still, no signage was posted to let us know why they were closed early. Last night, my boyfriend and I came to grab some food, and there was a lady shaking the door trying to get in. There were people in line ORDERING. She told us she was calling them because the hours on Yelp say they are open until 9PM (which is why we came at 8:20PM too). A young girl came to the door and said "My manager told us we could close early." WHAT? I understand nobody likes to work in a mall, but this is a restaurant, not a retail store. There were PLENTY of people inside eating, and at least four or five people in line waiting to order. They let her in, but I looked at my boyfriend and told him I didn't feel comfortable going in there in case they were pissed that we prevented them from closing early. Both times it was the manager who is a heavier set guy with glasses. I'm not sure if he just decided to closes because he wanted to get out of work early, or if there was a reason (i.e, out of ingredients, etc.) I doubt it. Anyway, I will come back to Rubio's because it is quick and convenient, but I guess I'll stay away an hour before closing since they aren't consistent with their hours of operation.

Always get really nice service coming here. Everyone is really nice and welcoming, and they always get my order perfect! It's right by my work so I come here often. I do have one complaint over the man middle-aged with the glasses, he is very rude and ignored me three times when I politely said "excuse me". When he finally decided to look up he rolled his eyes and said "what?". Other than that my service has always been great here! Everyone is kind and get a 5/5 from me.

Tonight was a perfect night to come. Didn't wait too long and our food came fresh and warm. The customer service was also perfect. Haven't been here awhile, so when the fish tacos came, we got very excited. I can't even remember if I chewed my food...so sorry but it was delicious! Definitely satisfied...we wanted to order more fish tacos but had to control ourselves for the next visit. See you next time

Our first time trying Rubio's. We were on our way to the airport on a Tuesday and we were glad to see a Tuesday special for Original Fish Tacos ($1.50). We ordered a couple of those and a Coastal Trio. All were good. However, the cashier who took our order was a little unfriendly. Our order took about 10 min which isn't too bad. The Tuesday special is worth coming back for.

I still stand by my first review. This place is a great place to get fish tacos on Tuesdays. Just be prepared to wait. My bf and I had to wait a little more than 20 minutes for our food. Last time I checked this was a fast food restaurant. I do understand that this was probably one of their busier days, so I didn't let it bother me too much. Thankfully, I wasn't too hungry =) Aside from the long wait, one of the employees exhibited exceptional customer service. I think he deserves recognition. His name is Jonny & he works at this location. He took my order & reminded me to come in for the free tote they were giving back in honor of World Ocean Day! When our order was taking longer than usual, he apologized for the wait & offered us a side of free chips! He was really nice about it. I am so grateful for his exceptional experience because it made my visit a lot better. Props, Jonny!

If you find yourself forced to eat here, do yourself a favor and ask for all sauces and salsas on the side. I got the California Bowl. It comes covered in this chipotle mayo. An obscene amount that turned the rice into an aioli risotto. The guac is saturated in citric acid from limes to preserve it as it's definitely not fresh. The fiesta rice takes like fake lime. There were *literally* fewer than five shreds of lettuce in my bowl. Finally, the bowl is roughly half rice. They really fluff it with that rice. They have a large salsa bar that I recommend using and asking them to hold all salsa from your order. That will let you find for yourself which is least disgusting. I foolishly tried the bowl thinking it would be healthy. Maybe it is compared to other dishes here; I'm not sure. But between the salty mayo dressing, the huge amount of rice, and the underwhelming veggie ratio, I done goofed.

Came by here to pick up my free meal for my birthday. I got the Coastal Trio. It was a comped meal that they emailed me and was surprised. The Coastal Trio was consist of Fish, Shrimp, Talpia taco. They were alright. just three tacos and there was not chips are anything and it came with a drink. It would be great if they threw in some chips, but not. Overall it was a free meal, can't complain. Its good to come here on Tuesdays for Taco Tuesdays. Other than that i don't know what else is good here. Cash or Credit Parking, in mall lot

Taco Tuesdays $1.50 each, enough said. I'm there. The condiment bar is great because it's self serve with three different sauces varying in spiciness. My favorite sauce is the middle one- it's a dark brown one. There are lemon and lime wedges up for the taking as well. Squeeze some in your water cup! All this for free to top off the already cheap tacos, so I can't complain. I came here earlier this week and ordered 3 fish tacos for under $5 and 2 filled me up. I'll be back forsure.

Nothing beats Taco Tuesdays at Rubio's! My friend and I have made it a weekly tradition. Fish quality can be hit or miss depending on the time of night you come but hey, it's a $1.50 taco with all the roasted chipotle sauce and onion/cilantro mix you so desire. Crowd ranges from families to high school to young, starvin' college kids. :)

I used to really like the food, went today and got the taco trio, it was really disgusting! The breaded fish was all breading, it had been sitting around, it was a soggy mess, I through it away, the other two tacos were edible but not good. This place used to be good, last visit for sure.

Second time I've been able to make it to taco tuesday ($1.50 fried fish tacos). I can honestly say the tacos are delicious! Freshly fried in a light crisp batter. The line moves REALLY slow but it's not McDonalds where everything is pre made. It's made to order... My family and I couldn't complain. Dinner for 5 was less than 20 bucks! Staff was friendly ;)

IF IT WEREN'T FOR THE GOURMET SHRIMP TACOS & THE CLASSIC GRILLED SHRIMP BURRITO.. I would give this place 1/2 a star for the only lady that gives customer service during lunch time. My first visit wasn't bad, waited 10minutes for my burrito. No big deal. My second visit with my family, we ordered two fish tacos, two shrimp tacos, and a tiliapia burrito. I understand, it was hectic -- a Tuesday but only ordered two fish tacos. WE WAITED exactly one hour to get our food. My husband notified the lady that was serving everyone their food at 30minutes, we haven't received our food yet. At 45minutes went to the counter and told the server.. At one hour, they made our order did spot. ONE APOLOGY GIVEN. Didn't credit us for anything. Horrible customer service. The lady at the counter said they were looking for us, we sat at the first three tables with our number clear... Then said "they forgot." Now, I'm only back here for a whole grain shrimp burrito.. I've been standing here for 15minutes, only 2 customers ahead of me. The head chef notices I'm still waiting, and makes my one order right away, after making the orders behind of me. What is up with this Rubios?! FOOD IS WORTH IT, customer service and wait time for it .. Not so much.

Do not go for the cheap fish tacos, waste of time and money. Over done too thick batter and tiny dried up fish makes this the worst taco ever. Taco bell and jack in the box can even do better ,that's sad.

  • Thomas L.

I'm eating here now as we speak. You had a long day at work and the first thing on your mind is getting some tasty fish tacos. Unfortunately reality hits and expectations are drastically undermined. Boy, has Rubio's declined in both food quality and quantity. I ordered four fish tacos and ONLY one came with any amount of fish. A marble size of fish at best. Everything else was just fried batter so you're basically paying $3 each for fried trash and small cabbage slices. Not coming here EVER again. If you want real, legit fish tacos, go to Sancho's in Palo Alto. Decently priced and 10x the quality and quantity.

First the good... The food quality is consistent from what I have come to expect at Rubios Now the bad... I have been here three times, and every time I arrive the line is outside the door, no big deal, they are busy, thats awesome, however they only have one cashier so the line takes 20 minutes to get through. Finally you order, from the one cashier, then you wait, and wait, and wait, and wait... I waited 45 minutes from the time I got into line till the time I received my food. This is a grab and go place, should be quick, it is anything but quick. I also go to Chipotle sometimes, and the line is always out the door, but the line is quick, and you get your food in a timely manner. No problem, that is not the case here. Also the employees look like they are overworked and understaffed, either hire accordingly or schedule accordingly, its pretty predictable when the busy time will be and when it will be slow. Overall the food itself is fine, however it takes entirely too long to get your food

    (2)
  • Valerie M.

I really like the food for what it is. BUT I have to say that customer service, more often than not, is pretty bad. Like today, even the manager ignored people standing in line just to finish the task at hand. No employee turned to the growing line to even say "We'll be right with you." I waited a little bit before saying "Can I pay for my order?" (I called ahead). The manager said "Sure, what's your name?" Very flat affect. Not nice customer service at all.

    (3)
  • Arielle R.

The doors were locked in order for customers to stop coming. Wtf? What happened to "this door must remain unlocked during business hours". My friend told them the door was locked and all they did was whisper among the other employees. The salsa and onions were all empty and they said they had run out. There were no napkins either and when coming up to the counter, the rude manager or whoever it was had shouted "we really have no more red sauce. Really". One employee went to look for napkins and offered a paper towel roll. Another employee refilled napkins for us and had the frustrated manager bring some to our table. What the hell happened to this place? Not coming back again.

I went here with a couple of friends for Fish Taco Tuesday. The food was definitely worth it. Regularly, 2 fish tacos are about $6.00. But on that Tuesday, I spent about $7.00 for 4 fish tacos! These tacos also had big pieces of fish plus they gave plenty of lettuce and sauce. I was pretty satisfied with the food and it was definitely a meal deal! However, the service here is pretty bad. None of the tables were clean and pretty dirty. The service was a bit slow. I waited about 10-15 minutes for my tacos. My friend waited a little longer than me and only ordered chips! Luckily, they gave her a free bag of chips for waiting so long. Not the best Rubio's experience I've had. I've been to many Rubio's in my lifetime and I was not really impressed by this location primarily because of the service. The food was good but the place needs to be a little cleaner and the service a little faster. I might've came on a bad day but for the most part, it was a pretty meh experience. Hopefully things are improved next time I come back.

Rubios is the bomb for its sustainable seafood sourcing without the fancy pricing that would be unsustainable for my wallet. Slightly more expensive than Chipotle but with proportionately higher quality. The chipotle orange salad with shrimp or blackened fish is really well balanced with toppings and is the perfect size for a lunch (might be a tad small if you have a big appetite). Health concerns be damned on Taco Tuesday though! The line is crazy on Tuesday evenings so be forewarned. Sangria is a fun thing to have at a fast food chain, but it's not the best quality. Sangria mix out of a bottle, ice, and a few pieces of canned mandarin orange. Still... excellent with my mountain of fish tacos. Pros: sustainable seafood choices at low prices, good flavor, smart portions, awesome salsa bar, TACO TUESDAY Cons: long line for Taco Tuesday, service is a little slow

    (5)
  • Kai S.

Wow. The manager or whoever wears the braided ponytail in the kitchen is so mean to her workers. Talk about micromanaging! The wait took a little long but I can't complain about the quality. The workers here are great but that manager lady was too much of a bitch. Brought the vibe down. 2 stars cus of her making it awkward to wait for my tacos

I really like the tacos, however the service is another story. I called ahead and still had to wait about 10 min to get my food and could see that my food was just sitting there ready. It took me to tell the girl that the food on the counter was my order. Won't be coming back to get cold food.

I'm from San Diego and have a deep love for Rubio's. This location, however, never ceases to disappoint. If the cashier gets the order right, then the kitchen messes it up. I waited 28 minutes for our food today and when it finally showed up, it was cold! What were they doing for 28 minutes?! It didn't really taste good, either. They are short-staffed and disorganized. I don't think they'll be getting another visit from my family. I'll satisfy my Rubio's cravings when I'm in SoCal.

    (2)
  • William H.

Cold, last 2 trips to this location have seen a significant drop off in quality. Cold tortillas that appear right the bag. Please leave them on the grill for a minute to soften them up, microwave even. The beans are horrible. On a different occasion the beans were served hardened with the cold tortillas. Customer service is always friendly and polite. It think it has to do with personnel turnover. There are always new faces. The bane of bay area restaurants.

  • Kimberly A.

Don't get me wrong, I love coming here for the fish tacos, but they need to have back-up staff for busy nights like fridays! 25 min wait time come on guys, STEP YOUR GAME UP! & for the Mexican guy, supervisor or manager, that was very unprofessional yelling at the Asian associate in front of all the customers. Not only did you embarrass her, but that was rude!

  • Betty P.

FISH TACOS ARE SOOO GOOD!!! My first real time trying fish tacos at Rubio's was about 3 months ago? OH BOY, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE?! Plain and simple, but delicious with all the varieties of salsa choices. My only problem is waiting about 45 minutes for 2 small fish tacos. I feel like Rubio's is attempting to do a dine-in, bring your food to your table, kinna thing... dude... it ain't working! Please have a better way of organizing your staff so you don't have millions of angry customers storming up to you asking where their 1 or 2 fish tacos are.

    (3)
  • Kasey T.

I love how you can watch the kitchen cook while you're in line. Why? Because you can see them not wear gloves while they put your food together. You can see them use a cleaner and touch food right after without using their hands. I'm DISGUSTED.

    (2)
  • Matthew R.

The fish tacos here are one of the single best dishes you can get at any fast food establishment, not to mention they're only $1.50 each on Tuesdays. The salsas and condiments are great and the service is very good as well. highly recommended whenever you're at the serramonte mall.

This was one of the worst experience of a fast food restaurant I can recall there were three parties in the restaurant and the wait was endless . They had no flour tortillas a fact that was not revealed until our food was served and I had to return my burrito due to a allergy which would have been avoided if they had given us the information. Most of our food was wrong a really dreadful experience!!!

  • Carol C.

I've been going to Rubio's all over California for almost five years. I always get their awesome original fish tacos. Today I had a great experience. They gave us corn tortillas by default, but when I asked them if they could switch to flour tortillas, they were very kind and accommodating, throwing fresh flour tortillas on the grill immediately. I had been worried I'd get attitude for inconveniencing them, but they were so nice about it.

I come here a few times before. I always order their fish burritos.. they had a special which had salmon and chimmichuri (I probably spelled it wrong) and it was delicious! But I came back a few weeks later and they didn't have it anymore so then I always got the Atlantic salmon burrito and it never fails me! But the only thing I didn't like is the inconsistencies with the sides because the first couple times I went there they would give it to you in a small cup! But then recently when I went.. they gave more and it was on the plate with my burrito and not in small cup.. so I was confused. But other than I prefer this place over taco bell any day!

  • Misha F.

We were sorely disappointed by this experience. Price was the only good thing about it. But we can find better for that price. You have to walk up to the counter to order, like a fast food joint, but then wait about 40 minutes for your food. Wanted to sit outdoors but the tables were not clean out there, and no one cleaned them the whole time we were there. Salsa bar was missing a couple things and they never refilled it, though they were aware of it. Husband's nachos were stuck together from the hardened, small amount of cheese they put on them. The refried beans on there were so dry they were crumbling apart. My burrito's ingredients were good, but they were arranged so that it was like all veggies, then all rice, then all beans, so I never could taste everything together.

Can Never go wrong with their seafood selections. Go on Tuesdays and check out their FISH TACO TUESDAY DEAL. $1.50 a Taco and two is more than enough!

I've been coming here for the past year but after last night, no more. First I ordered 6 fish tacos on corn tortillas, cashier didn't ask which type so I told her. Went to get 2 containers of sauce, 1 container of cilantro and onions and 1 container of lime wedges. When my order was ready, the guy who gave me my order sarcastically asked me if the 4 containers were for me and why so much. I showed him what the 4 co tainers held and he rolled his eyes and just threw my order on the counter and left. Went home and my family started eating. Every taco only had a small piece of fish heavily covered in batter. Could only taste the cabbage and sauce. To top it all off, the 6 tacos were all made with flour tortillas instead of the corn tortillas O asked for. Maybe that's why the counter girl didn't ask which type I wanted. $3 for a cabbage and batter taco with mistakes and attitude just isn't worth it. No wonder the reviews all criticize about the quality and quantity. Taco Bell has better ingrediants and service so guess which establishment I'm giving my business to now? Everyone stay away from Rubio's!!!

food came fast but the customer service here is really dull... the cashier was to quiet and shy... and the server was pretty quiet as well... by the way the burritos are too small for $8..

This fulfilled my need for a Taco Tuesday to a...T? No really, it did. Ever since they turned their fish taco recipe up a notch, I've been stirring up a craving more often than usual. Their Avocado Corn and Sesame Soy fish tacos are amazing. I get one of each in their 2 taco plate, along with some salsa verde and extra limes. NOM. The staff here deserve major props for delivering your order to you when you dine in, despite the fact that they give you buzzers to alert you when it's ready. Still not a big fan of Serramonte, but I'll always be partial to tacos. Especially the ones from here.

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Waited over 45 minutes for 4 measly tacos. The staff were completely rude and unapologetic when we asked how long the food would take. Is this not a fast food joint? Once the food finally arrived, it was cold and the rice wasn't even properly cooked. I really hate being so negative but it's no wonder chipotle is taking over.

Excellent food made with fresh ingredients. Staff are friendly and helpful. My only complaint, which goes for just about every mexican restaurant I've ever been to, is that the "vegetables" in the veggie burrito are onions and bell peppers - ONLY. Yuck. So I order the veggie burrito without veggies and it's delightful!

Fish tacos here are so good! The place inside isn't too big but it a decent size. On Tuesdays, they have fish tacos for only $1.50 each.. WHAT A DEAL! Bought 3 and man was I full after. Never had the fish tacos here before so I wasn't expecting it to be so big since it was only $1.50 each but after 2 I was pretty full already. They use a buzzer system here after you order your food so once it buzzes, you just go up to the front and get your food. Will definitely be back on Tuesdays during breaks for my school :D

5 stars, just for TACO TUESDAY!!! Other days, they only get a 3. My breath and fingers still smell like onions & salsa =] & it's been hours since I left Rubio's. $1.25 for a fish taco on Taco Tuesday yummm I could eat so many of these, but I limited myself to 3 (2 corn & 1 flour tortilla). I love drowning my fish taco with salsa & onions, SO GOOD. Sometimes I feel like there isn't enough fish in this, all I'm eating is cabbage and tortilla. I've never seen this place so packed, only today. It's usually relatively empty when I come.

As I've mentioned in a tip before, they give you a free burrito on your birthday if you are a part of their email club. Love that! The initial thought of a fish burrito from a fast food place didn't sound appetizing but Rubio's fish burritos are the best I've ever tasted!! I always get it unless it is fish taco tuesday, in which case, I get those. The fish tacos are also really good and are only $1.50 after 2:30pm. So if you decide to eat here, definitely try their fish tacos/burritos! If I'm craving Mexican food at the mall, I would much rather go here than Taco Bell.

  • Albert L.

Dear Rubio's, I love your fish tacos but it's unfortunate that I now have work on Tuesdays and paying full price for your delicious fish tacos would be absurd, well.. mainly because I can eat a dozen in one sitting (literally). Furthermore, I love your salsa bar, limes, and REAL jalapenos (unlike your competitors). You are also one of the rare joints that still serve up Vanilla Coke-a-cola; very awesome. Please reconcile and make "Taco Tuesdays" into "Taco Everyday" and I will love you long time. Sincerally, A fish taco lovin' Asian..

My coworker went in for a burrito especial and he takes his first bite, and there is steamed rice in his burrito. Since when does Rubios bite off of what Chipotle is doing? Rubios had their own thing going now it is Chipotle Jr. The burritos are kind of small and $4 for a bean burrito, ouch. Authentic Mexican hit up El Farolito on Grand Ave in South SF or even the taco truck on El Camino right in front of the Shell gas station across from Tanforan Mall.

I submit trés mas o menos estrellas to this. no offense to you, chipotle - there is a home to many soft feelings for you here. the point of enjoyment at rubios is the taco. fish tacos to be precise about that. I think, yes I think you will try a taco and agree. it is not a big problem to try a new thing. is it? I do not know if they cater.

Empty when I first showed up and the managers/cashiers were just sitting around on their iPhones. It took them a little while to figure out that they had customers and take my groups order. But once they did get our order, they were really helpful in asking if we needed anything else and even brought our food out to the table. This location was really clean, and the salsa bar was well kept. My only problem was that the limes were starting to brown and I wish they kept better attention of not only how clean the bar is, but how fresh the food is looking. I would definitely return to this location and say this place is looking better than all the other food in the Serramonte center.

When I first came here, I didn't expect the food to be good at all but I was wrong, so very very wrong. The food is excellent and the service isn't half bad either. I recommend getting the fish tacos because they really are the best thing on the menu.

Sorry, I use to be a fan here of the Tuesday Fish Tacos; but that died when I got food poisoning here late 2011. I had 3 tacos with some of their sauce. Maybe it was the self serve salsa or maybe it was contaminated fish...either way I was out for a week. Yes, a whole week off work with my head in the freakin toilet. I threw up so much nothing but water came out, including the Gatorade I was pounding. I give it 2 stars because the food is cheap and OK quality (sounds contrary to what I just wrote...I know!)...if you're willing to risk it. Maybe it was just a bad batch or just bad luck when I got sick...I unfortunately won't be coming back here...unless I want to lose some weight!

Yummy fish tacos!! I get the corn and avocado fish tacos. Tasty. Delicious. Fried fish, but it's ok. I don't eat it often, but when I do come here FISH TACOS ALL THE WAY!

I visited this Rubio's on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty busy. But the line did move quickly and the staff was helpful. The cashier was not super friendly, but friendly enough. They give you a vibrating buzzer thing to let you know when your food is ready, but one of the staff people actually walks the tray of food to your table, which is a nice touch. In terms of the food, it's just like any other Rubios. The burrito ($6.99) I ordered was a fair size and came with a fair serving of tortilla chips. The chicken in the burrito was pretty tasty, but unfortunately the guacamole was unevenly dispersed. Oh well. So, the food is pretty standard/tasty. My only gripe is that the bathroom was really disgusting. The women's bathroom had water (I hope it was just water) all over the floor. In fact, the woman who was in the restroom before me almost slipped on her way out. They don't have paper towels (which is fine- eco-friendly!), but the air hand-dryer is really weak and takes about 3 cycles to dry your hands. Notes: -Plenty of parking. It's at the mall! -They have a small patio/outdoor eating area as well.

TACO TUESDAY! ...yay for $1.50 fish tacos ...nay for having to wait 20 minutes for 3 and a side of rice I feel like if you have a promotion like this every Tuesday, that you should be better staffed for the rush of people near dinner time. I was there at 7:40 today and took about 5 minutes in line and 20 minutes for my order to be ready.

  • Suejung S.

Really fresh ingredients! Came here for lunch before a Target run (next door). I ordered the classic tacos with chicken and it was pretty tasty. The flour tortilla was soft and contained all the inside stuff well (it's sometimes annoying when you're trying to eat a taco and all the stuff keeps falling out). I like that they came with guacamole in them -- usually that costs extra at taco places. Service was fast and friendly and the inside was a cute island theme. The bathroom was relatively clean. In general, lots of windows and seating options for people dining alone or with a large group.

Today I went in to Rubio's with my grandma and cousin. The tacos were great, not as small as I remembered but I was satisfied and so were my relatives. I was helped by a manager. He commented on my pregnancy, by "being too young" which I thought was inappropriate. I told him that it's 2012 and that I'm 22. His reply was "That's still young and back where I'm from people get shot for being young & pregnant" Which could've been a joke but I took it offensively. Then he asks "are you even with the father?" Which took it to a whole other level. Disreguard the fact I am with the father, it is none of his business. Then he asks if I'm going to get married. The whole conversation between us just set me off. As a manager, he should be an example for his staff and know his limit of the comments he made. I came out of Rubio's Fresh Mexican Grill unhappy with the service he provided.

It's fast food, but I wish it wasn't. The burrito that I ate there would have been great for a place that had plates, utensils, bottomless chips, and real cups. Really--you find burritos like this in places that are a bit more upscale than this. If Chevy's tasted like this, I'd go there more frequently. In any case, I think that the management of Rubio's either made a mistake in restaurant format, or they just managed to make some of the tastiest fast food fare I've had in quite a while. Thanks guys, I'll be coming back for more.

[M]ona: 3.5 Stars [W]ayne: 4 Stars Average: 3.75 Stars + Good Service + Decent Prices + Spacious - Small Portions [W] Definitely go here for the fish tacos. They have specials on Wednesdays whereas the fish tacos are like $1 something. I like that they have an open salsa bar because most of the time I like extras sauce on everything. My girlfriend loves eating their fresh jalapeño and that's free as well. The staff there is pretty nice. When me and Mona were there the last time. I guess an order was messed up for a customer and the manager made sure himself that they corrected the problem for the customer with no charge. It's a pretty spacious restaurant. Its not too busy and thats the way we like it. This is a place where you can eat comfortably without worry about yelling over another persons' conversation like at most crowded places...you know, so close that you can play elbow tag....

My family was at Serramonte and decided to give this place a try since my son raves about their fish tacos on Tuesday. The staff was friendly and that was the only positive experience for me. I ordered the fish tacos with both flour & corn tortilla. The fish was room temperature, barely warm but it was 3pm and I was hungry so I decided to just eat it. I got a sample of each salsa & thought they were all horrible. I sampled my husband's plate and the "steak" was rough and overly salty. The rice & beans was absolutely gross. I thought Chevy's was bad, this was beyond that. The regular menu items were over priced for the small portions. I would have been happier eating off Mc Donald's dollar menu. I would never come back.

Everytime I come here, I am warmly greeted by an upbeat cashier! The workers here are extremely friendly and I love their customer service, which is the reason I am inclined to come back here. I usually order the Baja Grill burrito. It is quite filling and delicious and I can't finish the whole thing! The chips are good and the salsa bar looks fresh. It would be nice if they had diced tomatoes in the salsa. I would prefer to eat here rather than the food court in the mall.

$1.50 Fish Tacos every Tuesday 2:00 PM likewise within that time to close. Now that, that's cool. I really love their Fish Tacos. I love their Fish Tacos on Tuesday, I feel like buying eight foe myself to eat and keep me full to survive. I recommend Fish Tacos on Flour Tortilla. So delicious. 5 star Fish Tacos at Rubio's for me.

This is one of the better Mexican quick service chain restaurants. They don't use lard or MSG, they make their own chips, they have healthy options (HealthMex, grilled seafood, whole wheat tortillas), and they have a decent salsa bar with three types of salsa, chopped onions, pickled carrots, and lime wedges. I recommend the smoky chipotle salsa - it's decent. The salsa picante reminds me too much of tomato paste. If the portions were larger or the price was lower, I'd give it another star for the salmon burrito. The Chile Lime Grilled Salmon Burrito features a warm flour tortilla with grilled marinated salmon (nice char), crunchy shredded cabbage, sweet fire roasted corn, creamy guacamole and a creamy chipotle sauce. With the contrasting medley of textures and fresh, vibrant flavors, the burrito is a winner. However, because they don't use beans or rice, the burrito didn't have enough filling so it felt like there was way too much tortilla. The burrito comes with some light, crispy chips. The décor evokes a lively beach side cantina where flip flops are the norm. You can help yourself to soda (the machine is in the dining area) and salsa. On Tuesdays, fish tacos are $1.25 - but only the fried ones. The healthy version is always more expensive here (and you get less food).

So I recently tried the taco tuesday EVERYONE does -- I have no idea why I never got on it!! I do like the fish tacos with the corn tortilla and just how they're not cheap on the cabbage and whatnot. My friend has told me before that there are usually long lines but I guess we were early because there wasn't any! I honestly don't think I can eat it alllll the time though. It's good but two is just about right for myself. The batter is not bad but too much of it can make a girl sick. haha Parking is okay but it's ALWAYS packed at Serramonte, especially near the target but I don't mind parking further and just walking. Jamba juice is right next door too and since it's in the mall, that's always a plus.

Its Tuesday and after 2:30pm so the guy in front of me ordered SIX FISH TACOS. DUHH!! It was only 2:45pm and EVERYONE and their mamas were getting the FISH TACOS, FISH TACOS, FISH TACOS!! The fish tacos are NOT the tits (I LOVE YOU, MAN) but they do they the job and for $1.50 each. Corn or flour tortillas available, one crispy fried fishy, chipotle sauce, and lots of fresh crunchy crispy cabbage. The manager was ultra friendly-customer service with a SMILE. "Did you want a cup for water while you wait?? Thank you so much, take care, enjoy, come back again soon." CHEESE!! Gotta love it. The soap in the bathroom smells like old lady perfume.

I haven't had any type of Mexican food since I came back from Shanghai in January so I was really starting to crave it. I really hate Serramonte so I haven't really checked out all the new restaurants in that area. What I really liked about Rubio's was that all their nutritional information was posted online. Not only that but they actually have healthy options available and I love that they give the option of whole wheat tortillas. I went with my dad during another one of our weekly Friday lunches. I wanted to share a burrito with him but he doesn't like Mexican people so he wouldn't eat it. He's insane and completely set in his ways. Having lunch with him is such a nightmare. I ordered the HealthMex Mahi Mahi Burrito. I liked how they put the amount of time it took them to make the order. I wish their salsa bar included chunky salsas instead of all pureed type salsas. It was kind of bland and I wish they put more veggies in it instead of just rice and beans. I had to pour on the salsa to make it taste better. I thought it was pretty pricey too. The burrito I ordered was one of the most expensive ones on the menu. Minus one star for using Styrofoam trays. What are you thinking people? They are not biodegradable!

I'm a gluten for punishment. The last two times I came here for lunch, they got my order wrong. From the many times I have been here, they have made mistakes. But, once, I mean the "one" time they got my order correct. IT WAS SOO GOOD. I'm looking for that magical perfection that I'll never find. But it's the journey. The quest. I'll come back and try again.

So when I usually come here it's on Tuesday after 2:30 and I only have one thought in my zombie mind... Must. Eat. ($1.25) Fish. Tacos. So when I came on a Saturday, I was at a loss as to what I should eat seeing as fish tacos were normally $2+ each! (eek!! Me paying regular price when I know I can get it cheaper?!?!?) The tortilla soup and a taco combo ($4.99) I ended up choosing was not only filling but surprisingly tasty! I knew the fish taco could never be bad in my book, but the soup came as a real gem out of the experience. Slices of avocado over a chickeny rice, cheese and tortilla concoction that actually resembled the advertisement outside was warm and filling in my tummy. Not sure if it was worth $4.99 but yummy nonetheless. If the soup was still in stores when I came back and it wasn't a post-2:30 Tuesday, I would consider ordering it again!!!

I love their fish taco! The fish is crisp and spiced with their delicious sauce. Superb and friendly customer service! We asked for a towel to clean our table they came out to clean our table for us. Their supervisor Sasha is very knowledgeable about her food and explaining everything, especially for first timers. Will definitely come back for Taco Tuesday.

The wife and I were getting some things at the mall and were in need of some lunch. Everything in the food court looked pretty gross and we were getting ready to leave when we spied Rubio's on the way to the car. Tacos sounded good so we went in and both ordered steak taco plates. I was impressed with the customer service - you place your order and they give you a gizmo that lights up when your order is ready and the cashier will bring it to you. Unfortunately our tacos were not so great. The tortillas were dry and the steak didn't have a lot of flavor. The chips were thin and broke when scooping up beans or salsa. We tried about 6 of the salsas from the salsa bar and they all tasted like tomato sauce with some added peppers (the salsa verde was good). I guess it was better than Taco Bell but expensive for what they offer.

Only time I come here is on Tuesday's Why? It's fish taco Tuesday for $1.25 each after 230 pm. It's funny that most people like to come here on Tuesdays too like me cause other than that, I rarely see this place packed on the other days.

I don't usually eat at Rubio's often and was up in Daly City for some quick business. This plaza seemed alright but it didn't actually have too many food options... I believe there was a Le Bouglander next door. The door has one of those "people love us on yelp" stickers which I thought was kinda funny. You don't often see those on chain restaurants such as this. Anyway, the place seemed clean and relatively new inside with no line ahead of me. I went ahead and ordered the 2 fish taco's which is supposedly what they're known for. They have a few fresh salsas available and they are seemed to play close attention to keeping the area around there clean. Although I'm not the type to freak out if they have a drop of salsa on the counters. My food was ready and one of the managers actually brought out the food to me which was interestingly uncommon. I thought the food was ok, and they seemed to pay close attention to cleaning and service so I can say a solid 4.

This place is great for a quick lunch. I suggest the FISH TACOS on tuesdays. I like to order mine with a side of black beans. The salsa bar is very clean. I would like to agree with everyone else in that this Rubio's is very efficient in keeping things orderly and clean. Other than that, I would not come here for a nice dinner. Starving, thought I'd be through shopping early enough to get home for lunch, but no! Trying to save money and not go out to lunch this week. $3.93 - two chicken "street tacos" with salsa and water to drink. Tasted pretty good, had guac on them. Deal!! Everyone was friendly.

Okay, so I love me some Rubios. This location is okay, sometimes the service is slow and they have messed up my order before (when I called it in and didnt realize until I had picked it up and was back at work) but the food is tasty and the employees are friendly. The only major down side that keeps me from eating here more often is that they are so expensive! You can easily spend $15/person for lunch at a fast food place, WTF? They do have a nice $1.25 fish taco deal on tuesdays but they keep pushing back the starting time (its after 2:30 now)... anyway... 5 stars for the food 4 for the service 2 for the price

    (3)

people rave about the fish tacos..and i understand. they're the bomb!!!! even if they did raise it 50 cents. I can deal with that. Their loaded nachos are also legitimate. Big eaters need this on top of four fish tacos on Tuesdays!

Fish tacos all day, everyday. I always come here for my fish taco fix, partially because I don't know anywhere else that has fish tacos. If YOU do, please share. I need to expand my horizons. Anyway, I love Rubio's because of their fish tacos. The sauce they use is delicious. The cabbage has a nice crunch to them. And don't forget about their chipotle salsa! MMMM spicy! I can't say I've had anything else on the menu though... The service is great; you'll always get your food within 5 mins of when you order and pay for your meal. I like the inside too, especially if its raining outside. It's like a little getaway to Baja. FISH TACOS!

I just happened to be in the area on a Tuesday afternoon and decided to stop by to get a couple fish tacos. The place was completely packed and it took them quite a while to fill everyone's orders, probably since it seemed like everyone else was ordering fish tacos by the dozen. It was worth the wait though because the fish tacos were delicious and way better than I had expected. The restaurant is nice for a fast food type place, very clean with lots of seating.

Safe Mexican food? Quasi Mexican food? Either term describes Rubio's. It's decent food at a decent price and you know exactly what you are getting. Plus it is usually a quick eating experience. So really the perfect food for someone on the move while shopping. I always play it safe with a burrito. It's comfortable like an easy chair. No real surprises, tastes good, and isn't really expensive. There is nothing overly good or bad about this Rubio's. Standard service, the interior was as clean as you would expect, and nothing took too long. Nice in a pinch!

Ive always passed by here reluctantly, but finally gave it a try this weekend. 4 star mall food, all 4 for the fish tacos, YUMM! i didnt care much for the chips and salsa. guess im coming back on tuesdays[not every tues] for more, especially now that i know theyre only $1, thanks again Yelp!

  • Robyn H.

We went to Rubio's because we were hungry at the mall. While we were in line, one of the employees started berating a colleague about attaching the wrong order to the wrong pager and then she continued to speak in a harsh tone to him about their work schedule. He was trying to take my order and she kept interrupting him. He tried to be polite and professional, but she wasn't taking his cue. So that's one problem. The second problem is that Rubio's has a gluten-free menu, and I order things that I know are supposed to be gluten free. The day after I ate at Rubio's, I experienced horrible symptoms that indicate that I not only ate gluten, but that I ate a lot of it. This is another indication of poor training. I don't know if the chain is good or not, but I will not be going back to this particular Rubio's.

I've had better Mexican food. My friends and I were rushing and we needed a quick place to grab lunch. (Like every other Filipino in Daly City) we were near Serremonte Mall. We decided to go to Rubio's. I ordered 2 steak tacos with side of beans, chips & salsa. Nothing special about their tacos, reminds me of la salsa and baja fresh. But I did like their BBQ chipotle dip.

Good place to get a burrito. Parking: I dont know, parking is not as good as i would like it to be. Since its located near the target and the front of the mall, everybody parks here so parking is kinda hard. Park in another wing of the mall and its easier. just have to walk a little bit. Inside: Rubios look like every other rubios you been to. Theres the sauce bar and junk. Service: Nice people. get ya order and get it to you right away. There is a pager system that will go off for you to pick up your order. Nice! Food: Much more cleaner than other burrito place. But something about the not so clean places that make the burrito so good. Their steak burrito is really steak and contains no fats. Price: Goodness! So much. The steak burrito especial costs about $8.00 compared to the $5.00 ones from other mexican places. But you pay for the quality and you get the hot sauce bar. Plus you get the chips! Ya digggg. God bless and happy yelpin!!!!

Tacos are super tiny. But they were good. I reckon this is not authentic mexican food but I like the food here. It's just expensive though for the serving I am getting but I will definitely come back. This would probably be a light lunch for me.

Tuesday Fish Taco Special. All you need to know! I only come here one Tuesdays when I'm craving fish tacos! I wouldn't really order anything else here besides the tacos. It doesn't taste authentic.. but what can I really expect out of it. After all, it is still a part of the mall. I'd give it 5 stars, but they messed up on my order once. They put all my tacos on corn tortillas when i asked for flour.

This fast food chain is unlike the others, where you just get cookie-cutter food that's probably been sitting there for a while. However, this is still a chain, thus it's extremely difficult to get past 3 stars as all chain fast food places are similar where one doesn't outshine the other by much. The Tuesday fish taco deals for $1.25 after 2:30 pm is fun. Their burritos are just like any other Rubio's, but this food is above taco bell or the McDonald's inside the Serramonte Mall. I'll patron this place one day, as it's near Target plus I don't have to deal with walking through Serramonte Mall to get some chow at least.

I've had bite-size portions of fish tacos as an appetizer, but today was the first time that I ate them as a meal in itself. Suffice to say, Rubio's definitely does not disappoint. After receiving my order, I quickly took a bite, and yes, them fish tacos are de-freakin-licious. The next thing I did was squeeze some lime and pour some of the roasted chipotle salsa on those things, and wow, it just puts the flavor scale over the top! The beans and chips were okay, not much there as expected. They are side dishes after all. So just like that, I became an instant fan of fish tacos. I can only wonder how much better they could be...

$1.25 fish tacos after 2:30 on Tuesdays. I am there! Where can you possibility get dirt cheap fish tacos anywhere in the city? I know that this isn't really a 'authentic' Mexican dish because the fish taco came from the coast somewhere in CA, most likely Santa Cruz. +: salsa bar soo you can get as much salsa as you want! I love salsa. -: the salsa is not spicy period!

Big fan of their fried fish tacos. Very tasty. Chips are room temperature and kinda dully. Salsa bar. Sit under an indoor palapa. Cheery decorations. Need more guacamole on their chips. They use a pager to let you know your food is ready. Tough parking for a shopping mall - lots of cars.

Their chopped salad was delicious. They even have Vanilla Coke! I didn't even know Coke still made that flavor. Drank that stuff years ago. Reasonably priced, clean restaurant, easy parking, and very friendly services. B/B+

Out of all the taco/burrito choices in the greater bay area (and yeah...there are a few) I keep coming to Rubios for 2 reasons: a) their selection and flavors are unique (they use more chipotle than, well..Chipotle) and b) the quality of their food is always consistently good (unlike Chipotle). However at this particular location in Daly City, the service is getting bad; as I was waiting 15 minutes today for a chicken burrito with a side of rice and beans, 2 other angry customers stormed up complaining how 1 (or all) of the items they ordered were cold by the time they were served. As the cook (there were 2 working) tried to rectify the situation for these other customers, MY food sat there on a tray in the kitchen until I flagged down one of the two other cute/young (English speaking) workers to hand me my food (which she did with a smile). My meal was OK until I bit into one of the chips...the whole bag was completely stale. I almost felt bad bringing it back to the counter considering all the other drama, but hey...I expect quality food which is why I go to Rubios. Bottom line is I will tolerate bad service UNLESS it starts to negatively effect the quality of the food-- then all bets are off. This location really needs to examine what is going wrong and get their processes together.

Used to be I could only get a fish taco/burrito this good in the San Diego airport. Now I can get them on the way to or from the airport. They are the bomb!

Yum Yum Yum! Fish Tacos! No you pervert! I'm talking about the real fish taco! I love tacos and I love fish! Rubios offers the best fish tacos ever! The ingredients are very fresh as well as the fish. The tacos usually come with guacamole, cheese, cilantro and onion. You get to choose whether you want corn or flour tortillas. I always get the flour. Rubios has a great salsa bar which is always full of tasty salsas for your chips. Yum! In addition to the salsas, they offer peppers and lime to accentuate the flavors. I'm drooling just thinking about it. My only issue I have is that Rubios only offers a two fish taco combo meal. Two tacos is NOT enough! I'm not a pig by any means . . . in fact my friends make fun of how I eat so little! Therefore, I recommend you order the two taco combo and add another taco and get the Mahi Mahi. Arriba Arriba!

Rubio's is an interesting location. Its not quite fast food, but far from an elegant eatery. Our reaction to the location is just about the same: mixed. The food we ordered wasn't too memorable, and nothing really ignited our taste buds in a positive way. We did enjoy the "condiment salad bar" with a wide variety of peppers. Overall, this place is okay. Its better than standard fast food chains, but is generally a little overpriced for what you get (outside of taco Tuesdays it sounds like).

I really really like this place! I know everyone say's it's "generic Baha grill" but I think their Burrito Especial is soooo good. I even brought my friend here who opposed this place but decided the beef was perfectly grilled. I also have to say that I'm addicted to their salsa! I think this is my go-to place if I'm craving Mexican food when I'm done shopping at Target!

Not sure why I always think to go to Rubio's on a Wednesday, but that's probably due to my masochistic subconscious. I usually only get the original fish tacos, preferably on Tuesdays when they're $1.50 a pop, and I get two. I drown my flour tortilla-wrapped Alaskan pollock deliciousness in a ridiculous amount of lime juice and salsa verde. How's that for $3 satisfaction? Nomnomnom.

Went with a few guys from the office Friday for lunch. I've been to the Serramonte Center--Target mostly--many times before but strangely never really noticed Rubio's before...my eyes typically go directly from Target's facade straight to Jamba Juice and then sort of gloss over the other business fronts further down toward the abandoned Mervyn's. Now that I've put down 7 bucks for a relatively small lunch, I am relieved that I wasn't missing out on much. The meal was passable, but I can't help but wonder if the hispanic gals taking the orders are offended that this place touts itself as "Mexican" grill food. The 2 taco plate had a small cup of refried beans (not grilled), a generous mess of tortilla chips (not grilled), and then the two sopping-wet chicken tacos themselves in a rubbery/greasy corn wrap. I am no Mexican chef, but as a rule of thumb, anything that could be more easily consumed with a straw is NOT grilled.. or at least not grilled enough. I actually couldn't even pick up the tacos they were so watery, but with some plastic utensil skills, they eventually found their way to my food-processing innards. The chicken itself tasted fine, but the thing I loved about this place is the salsa bar, complete with roasted peppers. They have everything from a salsa verde, to spicy chipotle, to a plain picante. Any restaurant that gives me choice with salsa has earned its 3 stars. They gave me a 20% off dinner coupon with my lunch, so I can press my luck a second time. At least there's the salsa bar!

I must say I never entered this place nor i'd plan to visit this place. I visited Target in Serramonte & I was starving and looking for vegetarian/vegan food. I was skeptical before I came in to Rubio's that this place would be like other fast food place, the cashier was rude and all that...now that was my judgement before I came but my tummy insisted to be satisfied in ASAP, so i went ahead to this place even though I didn't feel like based on my 1st judgement. So I asked the cashier if she has anything vegan. And she said without hesitating that I could have burrito veggie without the cheese & the white sauce. So I said okay then go ahead geat me one. I was already happy and my judgement about rubio's changed right away after the cashier was really helpful in my hunger state of mind. The cashier was also very nice, neutral ambient. This place also has a not bad neutral ambiance, not luxurious or naything but at least it's not pretentious, they are what they are, very casual mexican place. My partner has fish tacos and he said it was pretty good & the size is just about snack size. The cashier went to check if the food was good when she passed by, and i was surprised she checked on me! Actually this place is not so bad. So that's why don't you ever judge the book by the cover :)

I luvs me sum Rubio's. The Fish Tacos are authentic Baja Style and having gone to high school 1/4 mile from the original in San Diego the year it opened I am also nostalgically pre-disposed to periodic trips there, either when I visit So. Cal, or when I am near one of the fewer ones here in Northern California. I only wish San Francisco had more than one of them with better access for those not working in the Financial District. But now that I am back in SF I was happy to find that one is open in Serramonte Center in Daly City and it just so happened to be on my way home last week. I have tried most all of the menu items but I always return to the Pesky Combo (2 Fish Tacos Especial w/ beans/chips) and always have that when trying a new Rubio's. The food was quick, fresh and tasty but somehow not as good at the Rubio's in downtown San Francisco (4-stars) and certainly nowhere near as good as those in San Diego (the 2 in Pacific Beach specifically are 5-star and the SD airport 4-star). At this branch the fish lacked that slight crispiness, the guac was overly sparse, and the beans and chipotle salsa not quite as flavorful as even the SF Rubio's. Still I downed that Pesky Combo like it was my last meal and left happy. The manager or maybe owner was quite friendly and we chatted about Rubio's history and lore while I waited for my Pesky Combo. I will go back but would not go out of my way to do so. By the way, while waiting I was browsing the nutritional pamphlet and was shocked to read that the Pesky Combo was 1030 calories! Whaaaaaaaa? From now on I will skip the chips (770 calories is cool).

God I fucking love this place. 2.50 for 2 tacos on tuesdays! hehe! So good too. I love how they have different kinds of fishes for tacos. I hadn't realized that they totally specialize in fish tacos! WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Had I known that they had such a wide variety of fish tacos to choose from, I would have been coming here more often. They are very clean too. You can completely see the inside of their kitchen. Recommended, fasho.

I have eaten at the Rubio's in Daly City several times. I am always impressed with the quality of the salsas available. They rank up there with the best burrito joints in the Mission. The Chipotle and Picante salsa are not only tasty, they pack the right amount of heat. I am a vegetarian, and, as such, have not really tried many things on the menu. The items that I have tried: Portobello & Poblano Taco and HealthMex Veggie Burrito, among others were always great. I also want to commend the staff. I have never had a bad experience when ordering and they are always friendly and put up with any foolish questions that I may ask. Thanks for the good food... and great salsas, of course.

"YUCK. beyond gross. I had the lobster burrito which was WAY overpriced. THe chips + salsa was ROCK HARD and pretty much frozen cold. Terrible food. WIll never go back there again. What a waste of $10"

I rarely go to Rubio's, but when I do, I relish how good the "world famous" fish tacos really are. They're cheap and the tacos are not stingy. I usually get the 2 taco special that comes with chips and beans. Hot, crisp fish in a corn or flour tortilla, with shredded lettuce and their special 'white sauce' (no idea what it really is). A good squirt of lime juice all over it and you're ready to go. I'm not a big salsa person, but the salsa bar they have looks like they have a good variety.

I'm totally shocked so many people liked this place. I'm thinking most haven't had real Mexican food. I got the vegetarian burrito and I KNEW I was in trouble when I saw the cook tear open a small clear pouch of frozen vegetables and dump it on the grill. The end result was in fact something that had the quality of frozen food. For some bizarre reason they had also grilled the tortilla so it was hard on the outside making the thing even worse. My aunt had the taco & soup combo and the taco was sloppy and the soup looked canned. Will never come back....

so first pros then cons Pros: It's fast (i mean it's fast food of course) They have healthy options (which you NEVER see at mexican restaurants...they even have the calories listed online!) It's dirt cheap Cons: The food tastes like cardboard...ordered a fish taco and had to DRENCH it in salsa just to cover the dryness and blandness. Conclusion: I don't think I would come here again unless I was starving and broke...and even then I think i'd just run to the super market and buy bread and butter...beats the cardboard which they serve here

Very good food. Friendly, fast service. Clean restaurant and soda/salsa stations. Tables, chairs clean. Would be 5 stars -- but the front food order area needs to have a line or roped/queue system. People just push and shove to get to the cashiers -- who do not take the next person in line but who ever is loudest. A line system like other locations or fast food places would be better for both the customer and for the restaurant employees.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
